Make your LinkedIn profile do the work

3 min read

Recruiters search LinkedIn by keyword and skim in seconds. A few high-leverage sections do most of the work.

  • Headline: say what you do and the value, not just your title. It is the most-read line and it is searchable.
  • About: three or four short lines in your voice — what you do, notable results, what you are looking for.
  • Skills and keywords: include the terms recruiters search for in your field; they filter on these.
  • "Open to work": turn it on (recruiter-only visibility if you are employed) — it surfaces you in their searches.

Keep it consistent with your resume. When a recruiter cross-checks the two, mismatches read as sloppiness.

Landably scores your matches and writes the tailored resume, cover letter, and interview prep for you.
